Vernon Gerald Taylor of Mesa, Arizona, age 58, died October 13 in Desert Samaritan Hospital at Mesa. He was born in Danville, Illinois, April 22, 1924, the son of Artie Andrew and Leone Alberta Kinney Taylor. July 23, 1950, he married Helen Mae Baldwin, who survives. A veteran of World War II, he did police work in Danville, was involved in construction in Arizona, worked at Harquahala Mining Company as superintendent and recently was a self employed heavy duty machinery repairman.
  Also surviving are his mother of Attica; two daughters, Kathy Kay Lowe and Shelley Vee Taylor, both of Mesa; two sons, Terry Lee and Ricky Ray, both of Mesa; two sisters, Doris Payne of Covington and Mary Lou Simmons of Lafayette; five brothers, Verle of Olivet, Illinois, Carol of Alvin, Illinois, Norman, Richard and Jimmy, all of Attica; and three grandchildren.
  Funeral services and burial were in Mesa.
