Thomas Emil Taylor, 56, chief light inspector for the New York Central Railroad and maintenance engineer at the Masonic Temple, died about 4 p. m. Saturday (Apr. 28, 1951) at his home, 8 Prospect Pl., following a five-month illness. He underwent surgery at Illinois Research Hospital in December. Taylor was widely known for his Masonic activities. He received the Meritorious Service award in the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite; was past commander of Athelstan Commandery 45, Knights Templar; past high priest of Vermilion Chapter 82, Royal Arch Masons; past thrice illustrious master of Danville Council 37, Royal & Select Masters; served as drillmaster for the Masonic armies for several years; was a member of Danville Consistory, Olive Branch Lodge 38, AF&AM, Gao Grotto and. Danville Chapter 854, Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the finance committee of the Commandery, had charge of stage properties for the Consistory for many years, and held important parts in many degrees. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Taylor was born in Danville Dec. 7, 1894, son of William R. and Natalie Heath Taylor. He was educated in Danville schools and was married to Leone Krauel, who survives, Oct. 22, 1925. They resided at 8 Prospect Pl., more than 20 years. Surviving in addition to the wife are three daughters, Mrs. Jean Cadle and Mrs. Margaret Barrick, both of Danville, and Linda, at home. The body is at the Barrick & Sons Funeral Home and will be taken to the residence at noon today. Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Tuesday at Barrick & Sons with the Rev. A. F. Bremicker officiating. Masonic services will be conducted and a Knight Templar escort will participate. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery.   --typed by Walt W
