SIMON ARTHUR TAYLOR the subject of this sketch was born in Jackson Township Fountain Co. Ind., on Feb. 18 1884 died on Feb 28 1908. Age 24 years and 10 days. The deceased has been an invalid almost all of his life. His suffering has been very great, and of long duration as he was not able to lie down to sleep and rest, as other people do, for a number of years; except perhaps the last week of his affliction; when God, who does all things for the best, granted him the privilege to lie on the bed once more. He has bore his affliction with the greatest of patience as the writer never heard him complain a single time. The angel of death has invaded our community and claimed our friend as its victim, yet we are consoled by knowing that all his earthly pains and sorrows are all over, and we trust he has gone to enjoy the place God prepared for him. The deceased leaves a father and mother, one brother and one sister, a number of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends to mourn his loss. One brother preceded him to the other world a few years ago. My dear child and brother while we miss thee in thy place in the family circle and realize that it cannot be substituted by any other, we rejoice to know that our loss here below, is your eternal gain. The funeral was held at the residence on Saturday at 10 o’clock. Services were conducted by Rev. Whitman of Wallace, Ind., who delivered a very able appropriate sermon for the occasion. After which the remains were laid to rest in the Wolf Creek Cemetery. -s-
