James H. Taylor, 89, a resident of Fountain County for several years, died at 4 p.m. June 16, in a hospital at Warsaw, Ind., where he had been a patient one day. He had been in ill health several years.
Born Jan. 12, 1875 in Kentucky, the son of Dr. James and Fanny Brownins Taylor. He was married Sept. 4, 1904 to Bessie Barkley, of Covington, who survives. They resided in the Covington area for a number of years before moving to Lafayette where he was employed in the aluminum plant. After retiring seven years ago they moved to Warsaw, where they have since resided.
Also surviving are a brother, Thomas Taylor, of Hillsboro; a grand-daughter and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Gordon, on Sept. 20, 1960.
Funeral service was held at the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro at 2 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Arthur Schenck, pastor of the local Methodist Church officiating. Organ music by Mrs. Josephine Grubbs, of Newtown. Serving as pall bearers were: Carl Cooper, Everett Ratcliff, john Dexter, James Boggs, James Taylor, John Lowe and Richard Taylor. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro.
