Lafayette—Leona I. Swisher, 85, died at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 1989 in South Street Healthcare.
She was born April 5, 1905 in Pine Village. She was married in 1922 to Lester C. Swisher, who preceded her in death Feb. 19, 1970.
She was a homemaker.
Surviving are a son, James M., Lafayette; four daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Virginia) Carter and Mrs. Arthur (Gladys) Douglas, both of Lafayette; Mrs. Henry (Charlotte) Totten, Monticello, and Mrs. Harold (Betty) Brown, Battle Ground; twin sisters, Louise Sprankle, Hartford, Conn. And Lois Javello, three Rivers, Mich.; one brother, Earl Cooper, Lafayette; 21 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three sons, three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Monday in Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Brett Mouron officiating. Burial was in Rest Haven Memorial Park. – thanks to S
