MARY ANN SWEITZER was born June 28, 1831 and departed this life June 30, 1914, aged 83 years and 2 days. She was married early in life to William PADDOCK. To them were born eight children, five of whom preceded their mother to the great beyond, while three, Mrs. Nannie Taylor, William and Grant Paddock, still survive. After the death of William Paddock, she married John Sweitzer, who died eight years ago. Grandma, as everybody called her, was converted early in life, and throughout all of her eventual life, lived a consistent Christian life.
Through poverty and trials she trusted in her Saviour, who piloted her to a victorious end, when she could say, “I have fought a good fight, I’ve kept the faith, I’ve finished my course, there is, therefore, a crown of righteousness laid up for me.” She leaves to mourn their loss one daughter, two sons, fourteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many relatives and friends. Funeral services were held July 2 at the Baptist church, Rev. A. M. Tomilson, officiating. Burial at Bethany. -s
