New Haven, Ind – Nettie L. Sweeney, 93, New Haven, died Thursday at Harborside Healthcare in New Haven. She was born Jan 3, 1905 in Yeddo. She retired in 1973 from farming and was a member of the Elwood First United Methodist Church, Woodburn United Methodist Church and founder of People’s chapel Ladies Aid. Survivors include a sister, Estella Watson of Elwood; five nieces, 7 great nieces and 10 great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Sweeney who died Nov 4, 1975. Funeral services were today at the Harper & Son Funeral Home in New Haven. Burial was in IOOF Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Woodburn United Methodist Church. - kbz
