Daniel P. Swank, a life long resident of Coal Creek Township who reached his 72nd birthday on Sunday died Sunday night at 11:30 o'clock at the home of his son, John P. Swank, four miles north of Waynetown following a long illness. Mr. Swank had been in poor health for quite some time. His condition, however, did not take a change for the worse until 10 weeks ago. Infirmities of old age caused his death.
Mr. Swank was born July 20 1858 in Coal Creek Township a son of Phillip and Polie Anne WIlhite Swank on August 22, 1880 he was married to Mary C. Harmon who preceded him in death. Mr. Swank was was a member of the Elmdale Methodist Episcopal Church.
In addition to the son at whose home he died, Mr. Swank is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lester Harshbarger of near Waynetown and Mrs. Wilbur Humphrey, 1402 Darlington Ave, Crawfordsville and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the home of his son Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock and was in charge of Rev. OR Mason of New Richmond. Burial took place at the Oakland Cemetery south of Elmdale - kbz
