Susan Cline Sutton, daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth Ford Cline was born on March 29, 1865 near Delphi, Ind and departed this life on Dec 16 at the age of 91. She was one of 11 children born to this union, 9 of whom have preceded her in death.  At an early age, Mrs. Sutton moved with her parents to Veedersburg and on Jan 26, 1887, she was married to James Sutton. To this union were born five children who survive.  Four daughters, Mrs. Hermy Fleming, Stone Bluff; Mrs. Willard Frazee, Veedersburg, Mrs. Ralph Clark, Covington and Flossie Sutton, Lafayette and one son, Rex of Lafayette. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and also one sister, Mrs. Della Light, Terre Haute, Ind. Other survivors include a large number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.  Most of Mrs. Sutton’s married life was spent in Stone Bluff, until the year 1923 when she and her husband moved to Lafayette to maintain their home until Mr. Sutton’s passing. A few years following this, Mrs. Sutton returned to Stone Bluff to make her home with her daughter Maude and family.  On Feb 9 of the year Mrs. Sutton suffered a fall which resulted in a broken hip and arm and never fully recovered from the accident. She became seriously ill one week before her death. Mrs. Sutton had been a member of the Stone Bluff EUB Church for the past 60 years and was also a charter member of the Ladies Aid assisting with church work whenever possible. Mrs. Sutton was a devoted Mother and faithful friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.  Services were held on Tuesday pm at the Stone Bluff EUB Church with Rev. Bennett Fulp of Crawfordsville officiating, assisted by Rev. Jones, pastor of the Stone Bluff church. The music was furnished by Mrs. Helen Jones, Mrs. Sallie Starkey and Mrs. Gertrude Gross.  Grandsons of Mrs. Sutton served as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers were Dr. Sam Pearlman, Lafayette, William Hoagland, Stone Bluff, Andrew Campbell, Veedersburg and Clarence Newman, Covington. Granddaughter of Mrs. Sutton served as flower bearers. Burial was in Osborn Prairie Cemetery with J. Fred Parham Funeral director in charge. – kbz
