George Sutton, 79, of Mellott died suddenly early Sunday morning at the home of Charles Martin in Covington. He had been in failing health for the past two hears.
Mr. Sutton was a carpenter at Mellott and an employee of the Mellott Lumber Company for 25 years, during which time he made his home with Mr. and Mrs. William Hancock, both of whom are now deceased. He was never married and had no close relatives but had arranged to spend this winter with Mrs. Hancock's brother, Mr. Martin at Covington.
Mr. Sutton was born in Kentucky May 29, 1865 but had lived in the Mellott vicinity with the Hancock family since he was 21 years old. He was a member of the Mellott Christian Congregational Church where funeral services were held at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon with burial at Union Cemetery. --- kbz
