Guy Summers, 77, of S. Glendale, Tilton, died at 9:42 p.m. yesterday (Oct. 2, 1966) in St. Elizabeth Hospital where he had been a patient 10 days. , He had been in ill health 10 years. Born Nov. 8, 1888, at Wallace, Ind., he was a son of Robert and Harriet Nolan Summers. His schooling was near Wallace. He farmed until 1918 when he came to Danville and was first employed at the Hegeler Zinc Co. He was then employed as a machinist by the Wabash Railway from 1919 until 1956 when he retired because of ill health. He was married in 1910 in Covington to Eva L. Airhart who survives. Also surviving are a brother, William Summers of Kingman, Ind., and sister, Mrs. Uma Harmon of Covington. He was preceded in death by a son and a brother. Mr. Summers was a former member of the Machinists Local and a member of the Tilton Christian Church. His hobbies were baseball, gardening and fishing. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Pape Memorial Home with the Rev. Don C. Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery at Catlin. Friends will be received at the funeral home 7-9 tonight and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. --typed by Walt W
