Manford B. Summers, 53, died Tuesday in the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville on June 2 1959. He became ill at work Monday at the Harrison Steel Casting Company in Attica. He suffered a heart condition. Born April 17 1906 near Yeddo in Fountain County, he was the son of John and Luella Day Summers. Mr. Summers married Rachael Beryl Orahood on February 24 1934. A resident of Veedersburg 22 years, he was a member of the Veedersburg EUB church. He was formerly employed as a railroader, at the Indiana Condensed Milk Company and the Veedersburg Brick Company. He had worked at the Harrison plant for six years. Surviving are his wife; his mother, a son, Arnold R. of Veedersburg; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Fishero of Veedersburg; a brother, Esten of Robinsville NJ; a sister Mrs. Ruth Chrisop of Monticello and a granddaughter. A brother and a sister preceded him in death. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, Friday, at the EUB church. The Revs. Jack Thomas and Samuel Pritchard will officiate with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington. The Bodine & Shelby funeral Home is in charge.
