-- Leroy E. Summers, 62, of Kingman died at 5:30 a.m. Saturday May 29, 1976 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, Ill where he had been a patient 3 days. He had been in failing health for several months. Mr. Summers was employed for 15 years by the Yeddo Grain Co. He had previously worked 17 years as a fireman and engineer for the NY Central and Indiana Harbor Belt RR. A member of the modern Woodmen Lodge and Brotherhood of RR Trainmen, he was a member of the Kingman Community Church. Born August 13, 1913 in Fountain County to Byron and Icy Huffman Summers, he was grad from Kingman HS in 1933. He married Wanda Aberrnathy on May 22, 1935. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Karon Summers and Mrs. Ward (Sharon) Fritzen; one son, Fredric; 3 sisters, Mrs. Warren (Leora) Shepherd ; Mrs. Howard (Mildred) DeBaun and Mrs. Charles (Cathryn) Jackman; two brothers, Leon and Charles; and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Kingman Community Church with Rev. Eugene Rapson and Rev. John Neiderhous officiating. Burial in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Friends will be rec'd after 1 p.m. Sunday at DeVerter Funeral Home, Covington and from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the church, where the body will lie in state prior to the funeral. The family asks that memorial be in the form of contributions to the American Cancer society.
