Hillsboro IN - Mrs. Hazel E. Summers, 78, of Hillsboro died at 9:25 a.m. Wed Jan 18, 1978 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill. She had been a patient two weeks. She was a member of the Fairview Christian Church at Tangier & Hillsboro Sr. Citizens. She attended Tangier School and was born July 16, 1899 in Parke County. She was the daughter of John and Belle Gilkinson Bean. She married Aug 31, 1918 to Cyril Summers who died Jan 31, 1970. Survivors include three sons, Earl J. and Orval Lee of Hillsboro and Harold D of Veedersburg Rt 2; four sistesr, Mrs. Grace Nickle and Mrs. Ruby Nickle both of Hillsboro; Mrs. Gladys Watson of Clinton and Mrs Ruth Guilliams of Newport; two brothers, Fred Bean of Greenwood and John V. Bean of Perrysville; six grandchildren and two greats. She was preceded in death by a daughter, a brother and grandson. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Throckmorton officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery near Wallace. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 Friday at the funeral home.
