SUMMERS, Guy

Guy Summers, 77, of S. Glendale, Tilton, Ill., died at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill., Sunday, Oct. 2, where he had been a patient for 10 days and in ill health ten years.
Born Nov. 8, 1888, at Wallace, he was a son of Robert and Harriet Nolan Summers.  His schooling was near Wallace.  He farmed until 1918 when he went to Danville, Ill., and was first employed at the Hegeler Zinc Co.  He was then employed as a machinist by the Wabash Railway from 1919 until 1956 when he retired because of ill health.
He was married in 1910 in Covington to Eva L. Airhart who survives.  Also surviving are a brother, William Summers of Kingman and a sister, Mrs. Uma Harmon of Covington Rt. 1.
He was preceded in death by a son and one brother.
He was a former member of the Machinists Local and a member of the Tilton Christian Church. His bobbies were baseball,  gardening and fishing.
Services were held Wednesday, Oct. 5, a the Pape Memorial Home, Danville, Ill., with the Rev. Don Goodwin officiating.  Burial  in Oak Ridge Cemetery at Catlin.
