ATTICA – Gerald E. Summers, age 49, died Thursday, June 5, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient two days. Mr. Summers was born April 22, 1920, in Cates, the son of Alvah and Era Thompson Summers. He was married July 9, 1941 to Ladema Elliott, who survives. He was an employee of the C and D Battery Co. in Attica and he was a member of the Eagles Lodge here. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: one son, Charles of Veedersburg, and one granddaughter. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Sunday at the Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg. The Rev. Bill Wilhite officiated and burial was in Wolf Creek Cemetery near Wallace. – jlr
