Veedersburg, Ind -- Mrs. Eva T. Summers, 65, died at 9 a. m. Tuesday Dec 24, 1957 at the home of a son, Gerald in Veedersburg. S he had been ill 3 weeks with a cerebral hemorrhage. A native of Parke County, Indiana she was born May 29, 1892, daughter of Joseph and Dorinda Thompson and was married Sept 27, 1917 to Alvah Summers who preceded her in death in 1938 Surviving are the son, Gerald and a grandson. She was the last of a family of six. The body is at the Fishero Funeral Home where friends will be received after 10 a.m. Thursday. Services will be at 2 p. m. Friday at the Wolf Creek Church near Wallace, Indiana with burial in Wolf Creek Cemetery. – kbz

Era (sic – Eva) T. Summer, 65, died Tuesday Dec 24 at 8:00 a.m. at the home of her son, Gerald Summers, 105 Sherman St, Veedersburg, Ind. She was born in Parke County May 29, 1892, the daughter of Joseph and Dorinda Thompson. She married Alvah Summers on Sept 27, 1917 and he preceded her in death on May 13, 1938. Mrs. Summers had been in failing health for years and seriously ill the past three weeks, having suffered a stroke. Surviving are the son, Gerald Eugene and one grandson, Charles E. Summer. She was the last of six children, several of her brothers having passed away recently, Dee Thompson, Charles Thompson and Clay Thompson. Funeral services will be held at Wolf Creek Church Friday at 2 with burial in Wolf Creek Cemetery. The Fishero Funeral Home is in charge of the services and the body will remain there until one hour preceding the services when it will be taken to the church. – kbz
