Covington -- Mrs. Bessie Ann Summers, 82, died at 2 a.m. yesterday Jan 1, 1968 at the home of a son south of Covington. Born July 3, 1885 in Tenn, she was the daughter of Edward and Melinda Brown Smith. In December 1909 she married William E. Summers of Kingman Route 3 who survives. A member of W. Liberty Church of Christ, she had lived most of her life in Fountain County. Other survivors include 3 sons; Paul of Covington Rt 3; Harold of Veedersburg Rt 3 and Gerald of Kingman Rt 2; a sister, Mrs. Etta Penner of Waynetown; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers and 3 sisters. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wed at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, Covington with Rev. Alfred Dobbs and Rev. Dale Mckinley officiating. Friends may call this afternoon and evening at the funeral home.

COVINGTON - Mrs. Bessie Ann Summers, age 82, a resident of Kingman Rt. 2, died at 2 a.m. Monday, Jan. 1, at the home of a son, Paul Summers, south of Covington. She had been staying there while in failing health.
Mrs. Summers was born July 3, 1885, in Tennessee, the daughter of Edward and Melinda Brown Smith. She was married in December of 1909 to William E. Summers, who survives. She had spent most of her life in Fountain County, She was a member of the west Liberty Church of Christ, south of Covington.
Surviving, in addition to her husband and the son at whose home she had been staying recently, are: two other sons, Harold of Covington Rt. 3 and Gerald of! Kingman Rt: 2; one sister, Mrs. Etta Penner of Waynetown; seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home here. The Rev. Alfred Dobbs and the Rev. Dale McKinley officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
