Danville, Ill.—Laddie B. Sumila, 86, South Danville, died Jan. 2, 1989, at United Samaritans Medical Center, Sager Campus, Danville.
He was born June 14, 1902, in Danville, the son of John and Agatha Mary Manicki Sumila Sr. He was married June 9, 1929, in Westville, Ill., to Esther I. Ferguson, who survives.
He attended McMillan Grade School and worked for Hegeler Zinc for 16 years and C&EI Railroad for 24 ½ years. He was a member of Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen Local 1358, Old Rails and New Ties and Holy Family Catholic Church.
Surviving, besides his wife, are five brothers, Leonard J., Floyd “Johnny”, John W., all of Danville; Louis E., Westville, and Anton, Peoria, Ill., and a sister, Mary Grey, Danville.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert Hoffmann officiating. Burial was in Locust Grove Cemetery at Tab.
Pape Memorial Home was in charge of arrangements.
