Mrs. Thelma Stuteville, Attica kindergarten teacher for many years, died 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Communtiy Hospital in Williamsport. She had been ill the past 11 months. Mrs. Stuteville and her late husband, Edward, also a popular teacher in the Attica schools, came to Attica in 1942. Prior to coming here, they held teaching positions in Crossville, Ill., Owensville and Clinton. Her husband preceded her in death in 1968. After retiring as a kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Stuteville served as housemother for Alpha Xi Delta social sorority at Purdue University until retiring in 1970. She was born June 6, 1905, at Corydon, Ky., the daughter of Edward Powell and Alice Frisby. Her marriage to Mr. Stuteville was in 1923. She graduated from Corydon High School and attended Evansville College. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She is survived by one son, Edward, Evanston, Ill. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jerry. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Roemer Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Harold Bachert officiating. Interment will follow at the family lot in Riverside Cemetery. Those who wish may make a memorial contribution to Community Hospital or the American Cancer Society. –- jlr
