Mrs. Amanda Stroupe, a resident of the Veedersburg community and Fountain County most of her life died Tuesday March 23 at the Mansfield, Ohio hospital where she had been a patient for about three weeks. She had been visiting in Mansfield with her daughter, Mrs. Doris Schroeder and had been in failing health for some time. She was born in Shawnee Township May 23, 1882, a daughter of Jerome and Uree Hall. She is survived by two children, a son Mr. John Stucker of Little Rock, Ark, the daughter, Doris at Mansfield, Ohio; two sisters Mrs. Helen DeHaven of Muncie and Mrs. Estelle Smith of Veedersburg and a brother, Mr. Mahlon Hall of Veedersburg RR. She was preceded in death a few years ago by a sister, Mrs. Bonnie McClain. She was a member of the Veedersburg EUB Church where she was active until her illness. Her hobby was writing poetry. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg at 2 o’clock. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery. – kbz
