Covington, Ind. (CNS) — Mrs. Marie N. Strawser, 69, a life resident of the Foster community on Covington Route 2, died at 3:47 p.m. yesterday (Nov. 29, 1965) at Lake View Memorial Hospital. She had been a patient two days and in failing health for one year. Born June 10, 1896, at Foster, she was the daughter of Rollie G. and Rosetta Siddens Gaskin. She was married Aug. 26, 1914, to Earl Strawser, who survives. Mrs. Strawser formerly served as manager of the Covington Schools cafeteria for several years. She was a member of the Benson Chapel Methodist Church and Wabash Royal Neighbors Camp 6070. Other survivors include her mother of Covington; two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Louise) Hunter of Covington and Mrs. Robert (Helen) Ball of Ft. Myers Beach, Fla.; a son, Robert E. of Veedersburg Route 2; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, a sister, a daughter and a granddaughter. Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Thursday at the Benson Chapel Methodist Church. The Rev. Lawrence Tedrow will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The body is at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. today and after 3 p.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Strawser was born June 10, 1896, at Foster, west of Covington, the daughter of Rollie G. and Rosetta Siddens Gaskin. She married Earl Strawser on Aug. 26, 1914 and he survives. She was a member of the Benson Chapel Methodist Church and Wabash Camp 6070, Royal Neighbors at Covington. A life resident of Foster, she had been manager of the Covington school cafeteria for a number of years.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are: her mother in the Rudisill Nursing Home in Covington; two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Louise) Hunter of Covington and Mrs. Robert (Helen) Ball of Ft. Myers Beach, Fla. one son, Robert E. of Veedersburg Rt. 2; six grandchildren. and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, one sister, one daughter and one granddaughter.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Benson Chapel Methodist Church. Rev. Lawrence Tedrow officiated. Burial was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
