Maxwell K. Stout, age 60 of Hammond, a former Covington resident died at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday March 8 at the Hines Veterans Administration Hospital in Chicago. He had been a patient there two weeks and been ill a year. Mr. Stout was born Nov 10, 1906 in Parke County, the son of Luther and Martha Stout. He was an army veteran of WWII. Survivors include two brothers, Robert of Hammond and James of Calumet City. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. The Rev. Glenn Ray officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington. – kbz
