COVINGTON -- Frank Stoup, 70, of Rt. 1 Covington, died at 1:10 p.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill. He had been a patient since Sept. 25 and in failing health one year. A farmer and Fountain County resident since 1916, he attended rural Fountain County schools and graduated from Paoli High School in 1914. He was a member of the Wabash Chapel EUB Church. He was born June 16, 1895, in Fountain County to Ross and Lockie Marlatt Stoup. He was married to Alna Vivian Stout Oct. 5, 1916. Survivors include three sons, Charles and Fred, bath of Rt. 1 Covington, and John at home; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Downey and Mrs. Alice Trimble, both of Merrillville; five grandchildren; four step grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a cousin, Fred Holt, of Veedersburg. He was preceded in death by a son. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. Revs. Robert Snell and Alfred Dobbs will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. --typed by Walt W
