New Richmond -- William A. Stonecipher, 62, died suddenly at 2:30 p.m. Monday in his home northwest of New Richmond of an apparent heart attack. Mr. Stonecipher was a retired farmer. He had operated his farm near New Richmond since 1950. Prior to that time he resided on a farm southwest of Danville, Ill in Vermilion County. He was a member of Wingate United Methodist Church. Mr. Stonecipher and his wife had made their winter home at Bradenton FL for the past 10 years. When living there, he was a member of the Trailer Estates Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad. Born in Harrison County on Feb 9, 1915, he was a son of James and Marcia Toler Stonecipher. He attended Covington HS. He was married to Ida L. Marquess of Covington Oct 24, 1936. She survives. ALso surviving are four sons, Donald of Columbus; Richard of Clarks Hill; James of Edwards Air Force Base in California and Tom of New Richmond; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Doris) Sowerwine of North Palm Beach, Florida; two brothers, Harry of Veedersburg and Robert of Covington; three sisters, Mrs. Paul (Ruth) Jackson; Mrs. Lester (Hildreth) Evertt and Mrs. Robert (Esther) Alexander all of Crawfordsville and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant sister. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Bob James officiating. Burial will be in New Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
