Attica - Miles Shurman Stonebraker, 61, 425 E Maple, Attica died at 3 a.m. April 11, 1997 in his residence following an illness from cancer. He was born Feb 4, 1936 at Newport, son of Francis William and Lula Rea Crowder Stonebraker. He married Juanita Eileen Hutts Sept 19, 1953 at Rockville. She survives. He was raised in and around Kingman and had been a resident of Attica a few short months. He attended school in Kingman. He had worked as a foreman at Bohn Aluminum in Danville for 24 years, retiring in 1992. He had formerly farmed and worked at Hubner Seeds near state Line. He was a member of the Pentacostal denomination. He was a talented musician playing guitar for several local bands. Surviving besides his wife are five sons: Gene Steonebraker, a student at Purdue; Jay Stonebraker, Cayuga; Randy Stonebraker, Silverwood; Anthony "Tony" Shurman Stonebraker, Georgetown, Ill; and Kevin Stonebraker, Georgetown, Ill; five daughters, Susan Kinderman, Kingman; Deanna Clarkston, Kingman; Sandra Kay Davis, Georgetown, Ill; Jamie Stonebraker, Georgetown Ill and Stacey Stonebraker Georgetown Ill; three brothers, Elmer Densford Stonebraker, Rockville; Ernest Stonebraker, Cayuga; and Herman Stonebraker, Cayuga; a sister, Josephine Poole, Attica; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Viola Newnum and two brothers, Marion "Red" Leon Stonebraker and Thurman Clay Stonebraker. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica with Elders Richard Brower and Burr Smiley officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
