STOCKDALE, Ruby Sewell

Ruby Ella Stockdale, Rt. 2, Veedersburg, died 5:18 p.m. May 28 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill., where she had been a patient one week. She had been in ill health for some time.
She was born April 4, 1924 at Georgetown, Ill., daughter of Charles William and Opal Leona Collom Sewell. She married Harold Guy Stockdale Feb. 24, 1944 and he survives.
Also surviving are four children, Harold G. Stockdale Jr., Veedersburg; Daniel William Stockdale, Zionsville; Joseph Franklin Stockdale, Toledo, Ohio; Mrs. Scott (Susan) Abernathy, Rt. 1, Covington; four sisters, Mrs. Malcolm (Marie) Erwin, Greencastle; Mrs. William (Virginia) Crumley, Carmel; Mrs. Jessie (Dorothy) Green, Indianapolis; Mrs. Donald (Barbara) Burwash, Danville, Ill. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Stockdale was a resident of Wabash Township, Cooper’s Chapel community, since 1957. She formerly lived at Brookston, Hillsboro, Clinton and Kingman. She graduated from Hillsboro High School and was a member of Cooper’s Chapel Church and the Ladies Aid. She was monitor at Grace Christian Academy.
Her funeral will be Saturday, May 31, 2 p.m. at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington, with Rev. Dale Cadman and Rev. Thomas Stapp officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday. – s
