Covington - Mary Gail Stockdale, 75, Covington died at 9:45 a.m. April 15, 1997 in her residence. She was born Jan 31, 1922 at Oakwood, Ill, daughter of Hobart and Lillie Ross Price. She married Harold G. Stockdale Sr, March 11, 1977 at Covington. He survives. She had resided in Covington since 1978 when she moved there from rural Veedersburg. She was a member of Coopers Chapel Church. She was an LPN 32 years having been employed at St. Louis, St. Elizabeth Hospital and VA Medical Center, Danville, Ill. She also did private duty nursing. Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Gary (Leigh) West, Veedersburg and Kenneth West, Indianapolis; three stepsons, Harold G (Judy) Stockdale, Jr. Veedersburg; Daniel (Francine) Stockdale, Akron OH; and Joe (Dianne) Stockdale, Toledo, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Susan (Scott) Abernathy, Sparks, Nev; 3 sisters, Beulah Thomas, Bradenton, Fl; Pauline Fonner and Irene Foster of Horseshoe Bend, Ark; a brother, Hobart (Bea) Price, St. Louis, Mo; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents and a brother, James Price. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today (Friday) in Shelby Funeral Home, Covington with Rev. James Shaw officiating; burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington. Memorial to Coopers Chapel Church.
