Leona Marie Stockdale, daughter of Amanda and Aaron Wilson was born in Cain Twp, Jan 18, 1899. All her life was spent in and near Hillsboro. On Oct 17, 1911, she united with the Prairie Chapel Church under the ministry of the Rev. Cash. She was a loyal worker in the different activities of the church, having served as president of the Aid Society for some time. She spared neither time nor energy to make a success of each undertaking. She was united in marriage with Guy Stockdale on Jan 1, 1919. To this union were born 5 children: all at home. They are Harold Guy; George Warren : Verna Marie; Gale Leon and Sandra Louise, who is only one. She had been in poor health for many months. She had been a patient at Lake View Hospital, Danville, Ill for 10 weeks where she had suffered intense pain. All that loving relatives & friends and medical skill could do was done but to no avail. She passed away Friday Nov 15 at 5:20 a.m. at the age of 41 years, 9 months and 27 days. She was a loyal companion and devoted mother. Truly a good neighbor and very dear friend has been called home. Besides the immediate family she leaves her mother, one brother, Merble (?) Wilson and family of Lafayette; one half sister, Mrs. Mary Katherine Cramer of Waynetown and a host of relative and friends who will sadly miss her. - kz
