Harry Stingley, 78, former lieutenant of police at the Standard Steel Car company in Hammond, died last night of cancer in his home, 519 Ingraham avenue, Calumet City. Stingley was born in Attica, Ind., and came to Calumet City 30 years ago. He held the industrial police job for nine years until his retirement in 1932. The wife, Josephne, survives. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Emmerling chapel. Rev. James Lawson will officiate. Burial will be in Milford, Illinois.
