John F. "Scotty" Stewart, 77, 1002 Fourth St., Covington, died at 10:30p. m. Wednesday, July 16, at Covington Manor Nursing Home, Covington, where he had been a patient for one week. He was born Sept. 13, 1908, in Bellsell, Scotland, the son of John F. and Jean Smith Stewart. He was married to Edith L. Rudolph on April 11, 1934 in Franklin, Ky. She survives. He came to the United States in 1923. He was a former resident of Buffalo, N. Y., Clinton, Iowa and Brevard, N. C. He had been a resident of Covington since 1956. He was formerly employed by DuPont for 22 years and Olin Corp. from 1951 to 1972, when he retired as manufacturing superintendent at Covington. He was a 35-year member of Western Star Lodge, 100 F. &A. M. of Clinton. Surviving besides his wife, are two sons, John F. . Stewart, Jr., Covington, and James H. Stewart, Columbia, S. C.; five grandchildren; a brother, Hugh Stewart, Claymont, Del., and a sister, Mae Stocking, Slat Lake City, Utah. There were no services or visitation. Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, Covington was in charge.
