Funeral services for Jeff C. Stewart, age 72, of Crawfordsville Rt. 3, father of Stacey Stewart of Covington, who died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville, were held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. The Rev. Hugh Dooley officiated and burial was in Hansen Cemetery at Bloomington.
Mr. Stewart, who had been seriously ill four months, had been hospitalized since Thursday, May 5. He was born in Monroe County Dec. 6, 1893, the son of George and Julia Ann Beckard Stewart. He was married to Stella Alice Miller on Dec. 22, 1913. She preceded him in death in 1939. He was a member of the Alamo Christian Church, the Alamo Order of Eastern Star, the Wingate Masonic Lodge and the Indianapolis Scottish Rite. He had farmed m Montgomery County since 1945.
Survivors include: his second wife, the former Ruth Grace Skrivin; two sons, Stacey of Covington and Orvil of Crawfordsville Rt. 3; one daughter, Mrs. Venida Hudson of Indianapolis; one sister, Mrs. Edna Phillips of Bedford; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
