Covington—Edith L. Stewart, 73, Covington, died at 2:06 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 1989 at United Samaritans Medical Center, Logan Campus, Danville, Ill.
She was born Oct. 25, 1915, the daughter of Grady and Mont Gibbons Rudolph. She was married April 11, 1934 in Franklin, Ky., to John F. (Scotty) Stewart, who preceded her in death in 1986.
She had been a resident of Covington since 1956 and a former resident of buffalo, N.Y., Clinton, Iowa, and Brevard, N.C. She was a member of Richard Henry Lee Chapter D.A.R. and the Covington Women’s Club. Her hobbies were cooking, gardening and crossword puzzles.
Surviving are two sons, John F. Jr. (Ruth), Covington and James H. (Becky), Columbia, S.C.; a daughter-in-law, Janet Stewart, Williamsport, and five grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Robert L. and William G., two sisters and a brother.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington. Funeral services will be there at 10 a.m. Saturday with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington. – thanks to S
