John H. Stephenson, for many years editor of the Warren Review and the Review-Republican at Williamsport died at his home in Williamsport Sunday night.  Mr. Stephenson had been in failing health for several years and about a year ago he sold his newspaper property to get away from the responsibilities of the business in order to see if he could recuperate his health but there seemed little to build upon – health never returned.  Mr. Stephenson had been a printer all his life and had worked at all branches of the newspaper business from devil up to owner and publisher.  If given his choice though, he could get more pleasure getting up to a case of nonpareil and setting type, than in any other part of the business.  John Stephenson was a man whose life was full of service. He was always busy – many times when the physical body needed rest.  He did many charitable acts while in the newspaper business.  Published many things free for his friends and for others, for which the general custom is to charge. Johnny Stephenson was a big hearted man – one who liked his fellowman and one whom his fellowman liked. In his social life he was congenial and made friends with every one he met.  In the publication of his newspaper he was loyal to his hometown and worked for its interests. The moral standard of his paper was always sound and right and Warren County has been made better by his influence felt through his publication.  Our remembrances of Johnny Stephenson will always be pleasant ones. Mr. Stephenson is survived by the widow. The funeral was conducted yesterday afternoon from his late residence and burial was made in the Williamsport cemetery.
