WINGATE — William (Roy) Stephens, 59, suffered a fatal heart attack at 10 a. m. Thursday at his home. He raised honey bees for commercial use. Born Aug. 8, 1898 in Fountain County, he was the son of Warren and Sadie Coon Stephens. He attended school in Mellott and his final years in Wingate. He was married Oct. 16, 1928 to Stella Pendleton. Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Small of Wingate, Mrs. Don Turner of CMR 7, Crawfordsville and Carolyn at home; a son, David, at home; a brother, Irvin Stephens of New Richmond and a sister, Mrs. Frances Walford of Orlando, Fla., and two grandchildren, Kathy Jo Small of Wingate and Joseph Turner of CMR 7, Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p. m. Saturday at the Servies Funeral Home in Wingate in charge of Jeryld Stanton of Rensselaer. Burial will be in the Dry Run Cemetery near Wingate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p. m. Friday. --typed by Walt W
