STEPHENS, James Sumner

James Sumner Stephens, age 84, a resident of Williamsport for the past 23 years, died Monday, May 29, at his home.  He had been ill two years and death was attributed to natural causes.
Mr. Stephens was born Sept. 17, 1882, in Warren County, the son of Henry and Salina Goodrick Stephens.  He was married June 17, 1919, to Salina Haupt, who survives and is a patient at the Alward Nursing Home in Attica.  He was first employed as a lineman for the C&EI Railroad.  He later became a farmer in the Sloan community and in Fountain County near Atica for 20
years.
Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: one sister, Mrs. Thad Crow of Williamsport; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Crowmer — Siddens Funeral Home in Williamsport.  The Rev. Clyde Beckner officiated and burial was in the west Lebanon Cemetery.
