STARNES, Mahala Alward

Mrs. Mahala F. Starnes, lifelong resident of this community died at 5 o'clock this morning at her home one and a half  mile west of Wallace.  She had been in failing health for two years and was seriously ill with a complication of diseaes for 8 weeks. The deceased was born Nov 3, 1873 near Wallace, the daughter of Lewis and Isabel Campbell Alward. She was married 44 years ago to Ellsworth Starns, who died Oct 20, 1926. She was well-known in this community and was a member of the Freedom Christian chruch near here and of the locla Eastern Star. The suravivors are two daughters, Mrs. Esta Fender and Mrs. Jewell Myers both of Wallace; two sons, Faris and Arthur Starns, also of Wallace; 3 brothers, Oliver and Arthur Alward of Wallace and Elmer Alward of Kingman 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Services will be held at 1:30 o'clock Wed afternoon at the Freedom church near Wallace with the Rev. Roy Lucas of Advance in charge.  Burial will be of the Zackmire ceemtery, west of here.
