STARNES, Gladys Coit - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Waynetown- Gladys C. Starnes, 91, a resident of rural Waynetown died at 5:28 a.m. Sept 15, 1992 at Culver Union Hospital, Crawfordsville. She was born July 26, 1901 at Danville, the son of Harry and Lydia Stuebs Coit. She married Charles Frederick Starnes June 21, 1928. He preceded July 1, 1981. She taught 33 year sin Danville, Ill, Hillsboro and Covington. Member of St. James Methodist Church, Danville, Ill; Fern Chapter #194 OES, Hillsboro; Daughter of American Colonist; Retired Teachers; charter member of American Auxiliary #188 and Pi Mu Research Club. A graduate of Danville HS and Indiana State. Surviving are a brother, Harry Coit, Pt Charlotte, Fl; two nephews and a niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wed at Cramer-Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown with Rev. Dorman Winger officiating. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
