Faris "Jack" Starnes, Jr. of Wallace, age 59, died Thursday evening Nov 6 (1980) in Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Ill.  He suffered a heart attack while visiting a daughter. He was born near Wallace September 8, 1921, the son of Faris and Susie Sanders Starnes. On December 8, 1946 he married Virginia Bever, who survives. A member of Freedom Christian Church and Wallace Masonic Lodge, he had retired after owning and operating the Yeddo Grain Company for more than 28 years. He was a Navy Vet of WWII.  A 1939 graduate of Wallace HS, he had attended Indiana University. Also surviving are his mother of Kingman; two daughters, Mrs. Peggy Montgomery of Palatine, Ill and Mrs. Penny Sowers of Wallace; a son, Thomas Wayne at home; a brother, Carl of Crawfordsville and a granddaughter.  Funeral services were held Monday morning at Thomas Funeral Home in Wayentown with Rev. Hugh Dooley officiating.  Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.  - kbz

Wallace - Fair "Jack" Starnes, Jr. 59 died Thursday night in Northwest Community Hospital at Arlington Heighrs, Ill while visiting his daughter.  Mr. Starnes was a retired owner and operator of Yeddo Grain Co. He had owned it for more than 28 years.  He was a Navy veteran of World War II a member of the Freedom Christian Church and Wallace Masonic Lodge.  He was graduated from Wallace HS in 1939 and attended Indiana University.  Born Sept 8, 1921 near Wallace he was a son of Faris and Susie Sanders Starnes. He was married in 1946 to Virginia Bever of Wallace who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Susie Sanders Starnes of Kingman; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Peggy) Montgomery of Palatine, Ill and Mrs. Obert (Penny) Sowers of Wallace; a brother, Carl Starnes of Crawfordsville and a granddaughter, Natalie Blair Montgomery of Palatine, Ill.  He was preceded in death by his father. Services are at 11 a.m. Monday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Hugh Dooley officiating.  Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday. - kbz
