Kingman - Faris Starnes, 78 of Kingman a retired farmer and local businessman died today in Lakeview Memorial Hospital at Danville, Ill. He had been a patient there for three weeks.
He was a member of the Freedom Congregational Church and was a deacon for many years. He also held membership in Wallace F&AM 495 and Wallace Low 12 Club. Born June 29, 1894 in Fountain County he was a son of AE and Mahala Alward Starnes He married Susie Sanders on June 27, 1915. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Carl of Crawfordsville and Jack of Wallace; a brother, Arthur of Albuquerque, NM; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Woodrow Funeral Home here. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. - kbz
