The deceased spent 60 years of his life in Fountain County. As a young man he taught in various schools of the locality. Surviving in addition to the widow are two sons, Henry I and Lewis, both of Hillsboro; one daughter, Miss Bessie Starnes at home; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. On daughter, Carrie preceded him in death. Funeral services will be conducted at the home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in the Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown. - kbz
Hillsboro July 9 - Charles C. Starnes, 89 died at his farm home south of here at 6:30 o'clock Thursday night of a complication of diseases. Mr. Starnes was born June 4, 1847 at Wallace, a son of Henry and Catherine Myers Starnes. He married Mary Edwards who survives on March 7, 1869. He was a member of the United Brethren Church.
