STARKEY, Mary Hance - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Attica - Mary H. Starkey, 85, Attica, died at 9 a.m. Thursday March 25, 1999 at her residence. Born Jan 24, 1914 in Newman, Ill she was the daughter of James M. and Hazel W. Skaates Hance. She married Maurice H. Starkey Jan 9, 1933 in Bloomingdale. He preceded her in death Nov 13, 1994. She was past worthy matron of the OES in Attica, member of the National Geographic Society and Double I Gem and Mineral Society of Danville. Survivors include son, Morris (Kathy) Starkey, Covington; daughters, Nancy (Gordon) Fleenor, Covington, Suzanne (Edwin) Erickson, Africa; 11 grandchildren and 14great grandchildren. Funeral services were 1 p.m. Monday at the Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg with Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Burial was in the National Cemetery, Danville, Ill. There was no visitation. Memorial contributions can be made to the Sterling Christian Church in Veedersburg, or to charity of choice.
