Jesse E. Starkey, youngest son of Williamm. and Sophronia Starkey, was born June 15, 1887, passed from this life July 20, 1912, aged 25 years, 1 month and 5 days. Jesse was a man who was strictly honest, courteous in his manners, prompt in his dealings and respected in all his dealing by all with whom he came in contact. While he belonged to no church organization neither did he make any public profession of religion, yet we believe that he accepted the Golden Rule and tried to live up to its precepts. December 22, 1909, he was married to Etta McDaniel. He was quiet and unassuming, yet ever kind and thoughtful through his long illness of over a years duration. He leaves a wife, stepson, father, three brothers, two sisters and a host of friends. He goes to meet his mother who died in April 1898. Funeral services were conducted Sunday evening at the home in Rob Roy,Fountain Co., by Rev. Stewart of Attica, interment at Poplar Grove Cemetery.
