WEST LEBANON - Charles Louis Starkey, 86, West Lebanon, died at 3 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006 in his home. He was born Aug. 20, 1920 in Warren County, the son of Louis and Mary (Bannon) Starkey. She married Pearl Frances White Dec. 23, 1939. She survives. He attended Boswell Schools. He was a lifelong resident of Warren County. He was a farmer and a machinist. He operated Starkey Machine Shop for 20 years. He retired in 1986 and spent winters in Lake Okeechobee, Fla. He was an avid golfer. He was a member of the West Lebanon Christian Church, F. & A.M. West Lebanon Lodge #352 and the Moose Attica Lodge #1482. Survivors, besides the wife, include: a son, Dennis (Pam) Starkey, Danville, Ill.; a daughter, Mary Ann Jackson, Dixon, Ill.; five grandchildren, Rob and Gayle Starkey, Greenfield, Jody and Cathy Starkey, Springfield, Ill., Kelly and Joe Dennison, Dixon, Ill., Stacy and Susan Jackson, Parksville, N.Y., and Mike and Kari Jameson, Danville, Ill., eight great-grandchildren, Nick, Gabe, Zoey, Aydan, Olivia, Samantha, Mackenzie and Wyatt. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, two sisters, and a daughter, Connie Dean Starkey. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) in Grady Funeral Home, Williamsport, with Minister Bruce Thornsbrough officiating. Burial will be in West Lebanon Cemetery.
