Covington—William L. Standwich Sr., 81, Covington, died at 10:48 a.m. Sunday, April 23, 1989, at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Danville, Ill.
He was born March 10, 1908 in Terre Haute, the son of Joseph and Anna Marmo Standwich. He married Merle Moffett, who preceded him in death July 14, 1960. He later married Rosemary McCollough, who preceded him in death Aug. 27, 1986.
He had worked as a pressman for R&S Printing. He enjoyed playing baseball, raising carrier pigeons and he loved gardening and fishing.
Surviving are a son, William L. Jr., Danville; a stepson, Charles McCollough of California; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Spisok, Danville; two granddaughters, Sherri Lu Norgaar and Janet Standwich, both of Tilton, Ill.; a grandson, William L. Standwich III, Danville, and three great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a granddaughter.
Private family services were at Sunset Funeral Home, Danville. -s
