STAMBAUGH, Solomon Brown

Solomon Brown Stambaugh was born in Fountain Rob Roy, Indiana Sept 12, 1853; died Dec 22, 1928 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ethel Emery aged 75 years 3 months 10 days. He spent the early part of his life with his grandparents near Otterbein, Indiana. On Dec 28, 1875 he was united in marriage to Maggie Jane Butts at Veedersburg, Indiana where they resided until 30 years ago when they moved near Moundville, this county where he lived until death claimed him. To this union were born two children, William F. Stambaugh and Ethel A. Emery both of Moundville. For a number of years, Mr. Stambaugh had been in poor health but was not confined to his bed until about two weeks ago. He had been a Christian since early boyhood days and an active and devoted member of the Christian Church for a number of years. He was always delighted to served and ready to do his part when called. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife and children, William F. Stambaugh and Ethel A. Emery, two grandchildren and one great grandson, other relatives and a host of friends. The body was laid to rest in the Welborn cemetery to await the resurrection morn. - kz
