Mrs. Martha J. Stambaugh, 84, died suddenly from a heart attack at her home in Mellott Thursday evening of last week. She had suffered from a heart ailment for several years.
Mrs. Stambaugh was born Oct 6, 1860 near Waynetown, the daughter of Henry and Ruth Fowler Murray. She was married in 1879 to Frank Wade who passed away in 1906. Later she was married to Charles Stambaugh who survives.
She was a member of the New Antioch Church and was active in church affairs.
Mrs. Stambaugh is survived by her husband; two sons, Truman Wade of Watseka, Ill and Perrry Wade of Frankfort as well as 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Christian Church with Rev. HA Davis of Clermont officiating. Burial made in Waynetown Cemetery. --- transcribed by kbz

Mellott, Aug 10 – Mrs. Martha J. Stambaugh, 84, died unexpectedly at her home here at 8:15 last night, following a heart attack. Born at Waynetown she was married Oct 16, 1879 to Henry Wade who died Dec 25, 1906. In 1930 she married Charles Stambaugh who died six years ago. She was a member of New Antioch Christian Church at Mellott. Surviving are three children: Truman Wade of Watseka, Ill; Terry Wade of Frankfort and Mrs. Clarence Rice of near Mellott.
