Edwin Stanton Stambaugh, age 87, a life-resident of the Covington community, died in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, Ill., on Monday, March 23. He had been a patient in the hospital since 10 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Stambaugh was a farmer. For the past six years he had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Esther Nixon, Veedersburg Rt. 1. He was born Jan. 1, 1877, the son of Alan H. and Tabitha Beidler Stambaugh. He was married to Mossie Kilby on May 8, 1909, and she preceded him in death May 19, 1948. Surviving, in addition to the daughter, Mrs. Nixon, are: two sons, Russell A. of Danville, Ill., and John E., of Covington; five grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, William A., who was killed in the war in October 1944, one brother, one sister, and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Hegg Funeral Home at 3 p.m. today, March 25. The Rev. Gerald Wunroe of Danville, Ill., officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery    --typed by Walt W
