SPURGEON, Ralph - WWII

Ralph Spurgeon of Attica, age 61, was found dead Tuesday morning, March 29, at his home. Death was attributed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was born at Freetown, October 16, 1921, and was married March 29, 1957, to Gertrude Honn, who survives. A member of the Assembly of God in Freetown and an Army veteran of World war II, he had been employed as a security guard at Radio Material Corporation.

  Also surviving are three stepsons, Frank Yeoman of Indianapolis, Ernest Yeoman of Palm Beach, Florida, and William Yeoman of Jacksonville, Florida; a sister, Flossie Staggs of Columbus; two brothers, Ray of Madison and Russell of California; and five step grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Maus Funeral Home in Attica with Rev. Harvey Lange officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Attica. – thanks to S
