After suffering a heart attack 9 days ago Harry A. Spicer died at his home in Hillsboro Monday night about midnight. He had been in declining health for the past few years. Born July 9, 1884 in Georgetown, Ill the son of John F. and Jannie Meharry Spicer on August 17, 1905 he was married to Mollie O. Long. Their early married life was spent in Georgetown moving to Hillsboro in 1916 where they have since resided. Mr. Spicer was employed as a car salesman for the GR Pitman Auto Company in Hillsboro for a number of years. He was a member of the Hillsboro Christian Church and of the Masonic Lodge of Hillsboro. Surviving are the widow, four daughters: Mrs. Jennie Cramer of Hillsboro; Mrs. Mary Fisher of Indianapolis; Mrs. Fern Shepherd of Lucasville, Ohio; Mrs. Helen Richey of Parker and three sons, Raymond Spicer of Marion; Harlan Spicer of Hillsboro and John Spicer at home; one half sister, Sylva Short of Georgetown, Ill 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The body remained at the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro where funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday with Rev. JT Moore of Worthington, former local pastor in charge. The Masonic service was conducted by the Hillsboro lodge and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. – kbz
